It has always been a known fact in the family that Zelig and his brothers were furriers. What that meant to most family members is unclear other than knowing that some sort of retail operation was owned and/or worked at by one or all three of these brothers. These pages at present will only present that world through the Trenton Times advertisements placed by both Abe and Max with respect to their individual stores located in Trenton, New Jersey. At present the creator of this website does not know if Sol owned his own retail store in Trenton or any other location or worked with or for one of his brothers in their businesses. What is clear is that Abe and Max were competitors and one can only wonder how that relationship came to be and how that affected their lives as family members. Based on two Trenton Times articles presented below specific certain legal issues arose affecting each other and their reputations. Of all the many advertisements placed by Abe and Max only one date is presented as those ads showing up on the same newspaper page and in this case directly above each other with only one ad in between them. |
